The Klorox Girls - I'm One, Me Too 7" (Grinning Idiot, 1995)

Nick Tucker - Guitar/Vocals
Mike Healy - Bass/Vocals
Gordon Kenyon - Drums/Vocals

I never saw the Klorox Girls but I was fortunate enough to obtain the single, only 300 pressed! Not sure whether the band thought of itself as a side project, Nick was also in Oswald Five-O, Mike in Kpants and Gordon in Compost.  This is the only single the band released. Not sure if they recorded more or not, probably would have been a good question to pose to Nick when we were messaging yesterday.  I wish things like that didn't happen all the time.  I also forgot to ask whether Mike or Gordon sang Rapunzel's unrest, sounds like Nick on Color My Imagination.

Here is the single with a bonus track by Beradino (Nick with Gordon drumming and maybe Mike playing Bass, Nick couldn't remember but Mike did record the track) which originally appeared on Mike Healy's Pollen Count compilation cassette (HERE).

I'm One, Me Too (7")

1. Rapunzel's unrest
2. Color My Imagination
3. When I Was Hot (Beradino)

Charlie McClain - Bass/Vocals
??? - Guitar

Elgin was Charlie's post-Now William band. I never saw them, I think I moved out of Eugene not long after they formed.  Someone want to help me out with personnel and history? Grinning Idiot released their lone 7" in 1993 and here it is:

Kpants (1992-1995)

Cory Hamilton - Vocals
Mike Healy - Bass
Jeremy Hainline - Guitar
Austin Swartout - Drums

I think Kpants started as a result of the Pollen Count comp. cassette that Mike Healy put out back in 1992. Pinebox, Cory & Jer's band prior to Kpants appeared on the tape. Pinebox broke up not too long after that and Mike became the bassist and I don't know how they met Austin.  Anyway, the stuff posted below is the complete Kpants discography, everything they ever recorded, at least in a studio, never occurred to me to ask Mike if they ever 4-tracked anything. Still some research to do here.

SINGLES, COMP TRACKS, UNRELEASED & LIVE

1. Not Kind (from 1st 7" of the same name)
2. At the Urinal (from 1st 7" Not Kind)

3. Crash (Long Version, Previously Unreleased)
4. Erie (Previously Unreleased)

5. Crash (originally appeared on I-5 Killers Vol. 3)

6. Love (from 2nd and last single of the same name)
7. Hospital (from 2nd and last single Love)

8. Bookworm (Live, originally appeared on one of the "Night at the X-Ray" cassette comps)

9. My Strong Back Legs (originally appeared on the Jealous Butcher comp. Nailed to the Stars)
10. Vampire Girl (originally appeared on the Jealous Butcher comp. Nailed to the Stars)
Adam Glogauer plays drums on #9 & #10

Cory Hamilton - Vocals
Mike Healy - Bass
Jeremy Hainline - Guitar
Austin - Drums

The first cd came to us courtesy of Grinning Idiot Records back in 1994. This release followed the first single "Not Kind" from 1993.

CHARMLESS

1. Light Sprinkle
2. Bookworm
3. Forehead
4. She's Got You
5. Sonic Ripoff
6. Lunchpale
7. Pie Song

9. Ants
10. Should We Cut It?
11. Best Kissers
12. Love Theme From Kpants

Cory Hamilton - Vocals
Mike Healy - Bass
Jeremy Hainline - Guitar
Jivan Valpey - Drums

Austin had left the band by this point and Kpants were never really able to permanently settle on another drummer. Jivan was in the band at this point, not sure how long he was around for. Adam Glogauer played a few shows with them and I know there was one other drummer who quit the band citing Cory's lack of professionalism for eating a plate of spaghetti on stage during the set. If the guy had a problem with behavior like that he was clearly in the wrong band. I recall Cory being late to the band's last show because he was cleaning his bathroom.

SMILE AND NOD ACCORDINGLY (UNRELEASED ALBUM)

1.  Ask Any Moron
2. Friendly Approach
3. The Lights Turned Down Low
4. Succor's Gesture
5. The Charmer
6. Just Play Along
7. Don't Do the Spider (originally released on the Crave Dog Records "Can't Stand the Smell cd comp.)
8. I'm In Your Shirt
9. Against Me
10. Wrist Rocket
11. Hooray For Everything

I'll add additional photos and possibly some video and live material too depending on what I can get the band to cough up.

Dose - Singleton b/w Sparrow Song 7" +1 (C/Z Records,'90)

Rob Henson - Guitar/Vocals
Chris Ross - Guitar/Vocals
Steve Grey - Bass
Collin Ross - Drums

Here is the first (only?) single by Dose released in '91 by CZ Records. The additional track was on I-5 Killers V2 I think. All three songs were originally released by the band as a demo cassette. They were around for at least a couple of years so it seems like they must have recorded more than this, anyone know? My knowledge is pretty much limited to the fact that Rob used to live on W12th across an alley from me. Not much to go on is it?

Dose - Singleton 7" (1991)

1. Singleton
2. Sparrow Song
3. Evil Boweevil (bonus track)

bunny summer - 7" & Cassette (1991 & 1996)

Rachel Blumberg - drums, vocals
Adam Glogauer - guitar, bass, vocals
Sean Reid - guitar, vocals
Jeff Cellers - vocals

My band's only 7", recorded in 1991 and released by spinArt in 1994. We started this band during the height of the Nirvana hype thinking it'd be funny to play acoustic pop songs while opening for garage/grunge bands. Nobody agreed with us as we only managed to play live three times in the band's history and never with the same personnel. Liking Jonathan Richman too much was another reason this band came to be. Years later I would meet Jonathan with a girl I was dating at the time and spoke to him for a couple of hours. As we left, Jonathan told me it was nice to meet me, then gave his home phone number to my girlfriend and told her to call him if she was ever in the Bay Area which forever cured me of any romantic illusions I had about Jonathan and his material. Yep, fuck you Mr. Richman! I included our horrible version of the evil twin brother song "eppin'" as a bonus track. Apologies to Bryan for massacring his song.

bunny summer - the one about las vegas (7" EP, 1994)

1. the one about las vegas
2. the one about holly
3. black and white
4. crush
5. eppin' (bonus track)

We recorded the "Failure... An Instructional Tape" demo on 4-track during 1994 & '95. Never managed to reform an entire band again after Rachel moved to Portland but for some reason decided to continue recording. This tape was released in 1996 and I think we sold about 10 copies.

1. tomorrow
2. I really don't care but tell me again anyway
3. cereal
4. Yeah, I've Heard That One Before Too
5. Old Shirt
6. Patterns
7. Borderline (bonus track)
8. Waking Up Drunk (bonus track)
9. You'll Do (bonus track)

Guardians of American Morality - (1987-1993?)

Molly Belle - Vocals
Stacey Belle - Bass
Jerome Berryhill - Guitar
Mark O. Howerton - Vocals
Randy "Red" Longneck - Drums and backing vocals
Johnny Mustang (aka Barley) - Guitar and vocals

The Guardians of American Morality seemed to be the Max's house band in the late 80's. I think they played at the Vet's Club a lot too. I remember seeing their posters all over town - "The Guardians of American Morality, putting the Count back in Country!" which I thought was pretty funny especially in light of the overall conservative nature of Eugene. I think this was the band's only release, anyone know for sure?

John Barley - Lead Guitar
Jerome Berryhill - Guitar
Larry Blum - Steel Guitar
Pete Christie - Bass (Lead Vocal on Cold Blue Steel)
Michael Miller - Drums

I think most of us who would have an interest in this blog are well aware of who the Guardians were and also how hilarious. Jerome was kind enough to send me this two track cassette which contains no live material despite the title. Not sure if these were ever actually released or if it was just a tape passed amongst friends but the tracks are well recorded and this would have been a fine follow-up to the debut e.p. Jerome also sent along the poster above which just about anyone who was around at the time ought to remember. My Guardians posts truly would never have been complete without the poster so I'd like to send a huge THANK YOU to Jerome for that and the cassette. Be sure to drink heavily while you listen to these tracks!

E-13 aka Etherteen (1982-1986)

John Lyons - Guitar/Vocals
Kelp Bed - Drums
Tim Murphy - Bass
Marc Heathfield - Vocals

From former member Todd Souvignier's website:

"
The core of E-13, also known as Etherteen or Ether-Teen, was John Lyons (guitar/vocals), Tim Murphy (bass), and Kelp Bed (born Bill Kuder, drums). The band was founded in September 1982 with guitarist Todd Souvignier and vocalist Damon Oliver. Oliver coined the name, inspired by a Venice gang, and the idea of the "Eugene Thirteen." Oliver soon moved into a rented house with Lyons (and others) located on Eugene's East 13th street.

Situated on a main street near the university campus, their high-visibility band house was a perpetual public spectacle, health hazard and freak magnet, yet attracted surprisingly little interference from the hippieshit neighbors and police. Ecstasy was not illegal in those days, but alcohol was the primary vice. There was a steady stream of adventurous breeding stock from South Eugene High School, almost no money whatsoever, and the wildest music and people, seven days a week.

The band played frequently, at venues including W.O.W. Hall and the Erb Memorial Union, as well as numerous house parties, and appeared with groups like the Wipers, TSOL, Minutemen, the Dead Kennedys, Dirge, Final Warning, and many, many others.

In early 1983 the group made a four-track recording, engineered by Chuck Clearwater, in the basement at E.13th Street. That recording by the original line-up was never released and is lost forever as far as we know. By the summer of 1983 both Souvignier and Oliver had been sacked, and the E. 13th St. house was kaput. Lyons took control of the band, brought in Mark "Hand Dog" Heathfield on vocals, and recorded the No Mercy For Swine EP. Other derelict band houses followed, notably the Vatican, which occasionally held shows in its basement, including an early D.R.I. gig. There was also the Cottage of Cheese, home to E-13 buddies the Cheeseheads.

Etherteen went on to release the Quest for Gilligan 7" (1985), their masterpiece. They also contributed a track to the Drinking Is Great compilation with Poison Idea, Final Warning, and Lockjaw (1985). All were issued on the legendary Fatal Erection label (run by Malcolm Conover, and the late Tom "Pig Champion" Roberts of Poison Idea) and are extremely rare. These E-13 recordings have since cropped up on various bootleg compilations.
By 1986 or '87 Lyons and Murphy had formed Osgood Slaughter, with Bruno Bersanti from Moose Lodge on vocals. The group moved to San Francisco, and did a record for Fatal Erection. Lyons eventually wound up in New York, where he led the Barnyard Playboys (1995-2005) and most recently, Peter and the Pansexuals. Murphy is also now in NY, where he works alongside Lyons. Kelp Bed is reportedly in San Francisco playing with Davo "Shredder" Levin. Souvignier is now in New Orleans, where he performs with SOUTHERN SEXUAL. Heathfield was last seen in San Francisco, but hasn't been heard from in years. "

E-13, the band, the legend! Most anyone who would have an interest in this blog has a funny story or two to share about these guys, I encourage you to do so in the comments. I think this is everything that was officially released but Malcolm would be the final word on that since he put all this stuff out in the first place. The "No Mercy For Swine" e.p. also has an insert and rear cover jpg that are included in the download. I would have posted them here but didn't want my blog shut down on day one for adult content. Enjoy! Also, an unreleased album exists but unfortunately someone will have to break into Malcolm's house to get a copy...

Attack and the Fun - Freedom Attack 7" (1980)

This is the earliest thing I have, the only (?) 7" from Attack and the Fun. Released in 1980, about all I know about them is that Steve Nordby said he used to see these guys at the EMU beer garden. They have a myspace page and are currently playing around Eugene as The Procrastinators which has to be the ultimate Eugene band name.

Freedom Attack 7"

1. Freedom Attack
2. It's Gone Deeper
3. Motorcade (bonus track)
4. Maxine (bonus track)
